The Soccer Classic is one of the largest youth soccer tournaments in the St. Louis area. Since its inception in 1981, the Soccer Classic has attracted youth soccer teams looking to start their season with strong competition in a fun event for the whole family.
The tournament is held every August with girls and boys division from first through eight grade. All teams are guaranteed three games and championship games are played for grades four and above. More than 130 teams participate in the 10-day tournament, drawing teams from throughout St. Louis, St. Charles and Jefferson counties. The direct audience includes:
- more than 1,500 boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 15, and their families;
- 30 officials and referees;
- 150 coaches and assistant coaches;
- 100+ tournament volunteers; and,
- an estimated 4,000 parents, siblings, and other relatives who attend as spectators.
The tournament website alone nets 30,000 pageviews from more than 3,500 users in the months before, during and after the tournament.
